About The Position

Palmetto Corp. is currently looking for an Asphalt Plant Groundman who performs physical labor at our asphalt plants. It is imperative that this position follows all safety procedures as our asphalt plants contain dangerous equipment and terrain which may pose potential hazards.

Responsibilities

• Clean rubble, debris and remove waste materials.
• Must be able to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Load and unload trucks and haul/hoist materials.
• Shovel bituminous concrete (asphalt) into construction area.
• Maintain clean jobsite daily.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily tasks according to work schedule.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• Must be able to work overtime, nights and/or weekends (if needed).
• Any and all other task as assigned.
