About The Position

The Asphalt Paving Foreman position is responsible for supervising the asphalt paving crew and asphalt paving operations on both public and private work to ensure the highest quality product and great service. Communicate and coordinate all aspects of asphalt paving from measuring, calculating, supervising, and coordinating the installation of asphalt paving. Supervises jobsite activity to include overseeing employees engaged in paving, raking, tamping, and spreading asphalt on highways, streets, parking lots, and driveways.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of industry experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies provided by the client and OSHA.
  • Use good judgement to ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Ensure the crew wears all required PPE (i.e., hardhats, safety glasses, reflective safety vest, shirts with sleeves, work gloves, etc.).
  • Supervise and coordinate all activities required for asphalt paving projects on construction sites.
  • Order asphalt, including measuring square footage and checking depths.
  • Understand grading and drainage.
  • Coordinate all trucking required to deliver asphalt and equipment to construction job site.
  • Provide on-site leadership for asphalt paving crew members and communication with customer field contacts, material testers and inspectors.
  • Provide direction, training, and assistance to the asphalt paving crew members to ensure each member understands their role and requirements.
  • Communicate daily with Project Manager or Project Superintendent to discuss schedule and production needs.
  • Complete project documentation including daily crew time sheets, daily site work reports, toolbox safety meeting sheets, and other required documentation.
  • Complete projects in a timely, accurate, and safe manner.
  • Operate other heavy equipment and perform other construction related duties as required.
