About The Position
Asphalt Paver Operator We are seeking a dependable and skilled Asphalt Paver Operator to join our team at Wiregrass Construction. As an integral member of our Paving Team, you will be responsible for operating asphalt paving equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality paving operations. You will work closely with the Foreman or Leadman, following instructions, and prioritizing safety while delivering exceptional results. We are seeking a dedicated individual who is proactive in identifying and addressing safety concerns, takes pride in their workmanship, and contributes to the overall success of our crew. The role requires a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring that all tasks are performed to the highest standards. You will be expected to engage actively in all aspects of the work, adhering to the principle of "Pave by the Numbers" and assisting in the layout and movement of the paver as required. In this position, you will conduct visual safety inspections to identify leaks or damage before operating the equipment, complete daily equipment inspections, and submit inspection sheets to the foreman. Routine maintenance will also be part of your responsibilities to ensure the safe and proper functioning of the equipment. You will need to adjust conveyor speed and tunnel gates to maintain a proper head of material in front of the screed, signal and direct truck drivers regarding overhead items, and maintain cleanliness of the paver. Your role will also involve understanding and preventing segregation issues related to the operation of the paving machine, as well as preparing the roller for transportation or maintenance. Overall, this position is crucial for the success of our paving projects, and we are looking for someone who can work collaboratively with the team and establish positive peer relationships.
