Asphalt Materials Technician - Quality Control
About The Position
Kokosing Materials, Inc. (KMI) has been a leader in the asphalt production industry since 1980, operating 19 asphalt plants and liquid asphalt terminals across Ohio. Partnering with Kokosing, KMI contributes to Ohio's infrastructure. The Construction Materials Technician is responsible for testing asphalt to ensure it meets federal, state, and customer specifications, working closely with asphalt plant personnel, construction teams, and governmental agencies.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail
- Possess good mathematical skills
- Knowledge of asphalt quality control processes
- Experience with asphalt lab equipment
- Knowledge of paving process
- High School Diploma
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Nice To Haves
- ODOT Level 2 or ODOT Level 3 certification
Responsibilities
- Perform asphalt testing and analysis
- Perform aggregate sampling and testing
- Perform density testing on asphalt pavements
- Complete governmental and customer reports for test results
- Communicate testing results to the plant, construction personnel, and government agencies
- Investigate customer complaints regarding discrepancies between test results and asphalt received
- Other duties as assigned
