About The Position

Supervisor for the Fort Polk ASP. Supervises the input and checks and balances for the automated stock record accounts to include SAAS-MOD Responsible to assist in supervising the receipt, storage, and issue of Class V Materiel such as ammunition. Perform surveillance of operations concerned with the receipt, storage, inspection, maintenance, renovation, issue, and demilitarization of ammunition items. Supervises the input and checks and balances for the high dollar ammunition record account by directing and managing inventories, conducting research, and processing documentation of issues and turn-ins Assists in supervising the storage of ammunition. Assists with the Quality Assurance Program with responsibility for conducting surveillance and evaluation of employee performance in the ASP. Evaluates personnel engaged in management of Class V supplies to ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable regulations, local policies, and contract performance work statement. Monitors the progress of quarterly wall-to-wall inventories of the Class V ammunition and residue; monthly inventories of all Category 1 missiles and rockets; and semi-annual inventories of Unit Basic Load and any special inventories and location surveys requested. Serves as the functional expert for the Standard Army Ammunition System (SAAS) to maintain stock record accountability of ammunition. Analyzes and resolves complex automated supply program issues and problems involving day-to-day operations and the processes of receipt, issue, turn-in and storage management of ammunition. Discusses system problems with automation and supply personnel to discuss system deficiencies and to recommend solutions. Receives program change packages, reviews to determine nature of changes and impact on current operations and procedures and informs ASP users. Uses a variety of supply systems automated reports and data to identify and resolve problems and/or make recommendations to improve storage procedures. Contacts and coordinates with automation and supply management staff within and outside the immediate organization to include higher headquarters, FORSCOM, and local unit customers. The purpose is to plan, coordinate, advise and assist on automated supply systems and the receipt, issue and turn-in of ammunition. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Five or more years of experience supervising personnel.
  • Five or more years' directly related experience in ammunition handling.
  • Three or more years of experience with Standard Army Ammunition System (SAAS)
  • Ability to communicate effectively to provide technical advice, guidance and assistance to customers.
  • In-depth knowledge of ammunition supply and knowledge of supply program relationships, policies, principles, procedures and regulations to monitor and resolve difficult problems related to the SAAS, TAMIS UIT ammunition supply systems.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of these programs.
  • Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques in order to achieve program objectives; schedule runs and validate output; research and resolve error situations and system problems from system, supply management and user standpoints; analyze system change packages for impact; and conduct studies and make recommendations for system improvements to better satisfy supply management information needs.
  • Knowledge of the organization and functions of supply as related to ammunition stock record accounting, distribution and storage management in order to coordinate actions and identify possible problems in document and workflow to and from the warehouse.
  • Sufficient knowledge of technical computer matters as related to specific automated programs in order to understand terminology, identify hardware and software requirements and problems and collaborate with system proponents at other sites.
  • Knowledge of regulated requirements on the inventory process in order to verify inventory counts, perform extensive research to identify and resolve high dollar item discrepancies and to upload inventory data into the ammunition supply system.
  • Knowledge and application of special safety devices and equipment and strict adherence to work procedures and safety precautions to avoid hazards.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to write performance evaluations and reports.
  • Ability to administer and recommend disciplinary actions IAW company policy and the CBA.
  • Ability to write reports, develop and provide evaluation of A & E workload data.
  • Must have or be able to complete the DoD Introduction to Ammo (AMMO-45), U.S. Army Explosive Safety Familiarization (AMMO 63), CLASS V Issue & Turn-In Procedures for Using Units (AMMO 64), HAZMAT Familiarization/Safety in Transit (AMMO 67), Military Munitions Rule (AMMO 68), and Technical Ammunition (AMMO 60).
  • Must have or be able to complete the DoD Technical Ammunition Course.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
  • Must have a valid and current state driver license.
  • Must be able to obtain a military operator's permit for each type of vehicle or equipment required to perform all FDP activity functions including forklifts up to 15k.
  • Must meet the certification requirements of IMCOM regulations.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must have a Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
