About The Position

The position is for an ASME Welder located at the Equipment and Assembly Facility in Pittsburgh, PA. The starting wage is $28.78 with a wage step progression plan. New hires are eligible for a $1,000 retention bonus, with $500 paid at hire and another $500 after successfully completing 6 months of employment. A tool allowance program is also available for new employees hired as a Welder II, allowing for a one-time reimbursement of up to $250 for tool purchases within 30 days of hire. Requirements

  • A High School diploma or Trade School certification is required.
  • Capability to obtain ASME section 9 in GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW certification while employed.
  • 2 years of experience welding on pressure vessels and FCAW welding process is required.
  • CCC procedures certification.

Responsibilities

  • Welds all vessels (including large ASME) and structural components utilizing SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW and GMAW welding processes.
  • Performs welding procedures to meet CCC certified procedures, including ASME, API, AWS, and ANSI code certification.
  • Able to pass non-destructive testing of pressure retaining welds, on both pipe and vessels.
  • Works from drawings/sketches to determine weld size, weld location and weld process.
  • Inspects own work to ensure compliance to drawings and weld procedures and makes necessary repairs.
  • Assists with incoming parts inspection and final product inspection and completes appropriate documentation.
  • Operates Fork trucks, jib cranes and overhead crane.
  • Completes ASME code weld log documentation daily.
  • Complies with company policies.
  • Handles/moves materials.
  • Assists in other areas of the plant as assigned.
