About The Position

We're seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Qualitative Research Assistant to support an upcoming research project. You'll work closely with the Senior Qualitative Researcher to help coordinate and execute key components of the research process. This role is ideal for someone interested in qualitative methods, user research, or community-based research, and who thrives in a flexible, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable with email, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Calendar)
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Background in Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, or a related social science field-especially through graduate coursework or research
  • Familiarity with qualitative research methods (e.g., interviews, thematic analysis, ethnographic approaches)
  • Must know how to do ASL (American Sign Language)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduling interviews and focus groups
  • Communicate with participants and stakeholders in a timely, professional manner
  • Help identify, screen, and follow up with research participants
  • Maintain organized recruitment trackers and participant logs
  • Handle data entry and documentation (e.g., notes, consent forms, spreadsheets)
  • Support with organizing digital files, transcripts, and materials
  • Assist with managing research incentives and tracking distributions
