About the position

The Interpreter assists deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals by facilitating communication in a variety of scenarios related to their day-to-day work activities. This role involves providing intercultural mediation to help ensure that communication is clear and effective, enabling the delivery of culturally sensitive support. A commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience, maintaining patient privacy and safety, and fostering a spirit of teamwork is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication for deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals in various scenarios.
  • Provide intercultural mediation to ensure clear and effective communication.
  • Deliver culturally sensitive support.

  • Foster teamwork and collaboration.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience as an ASL Interpreter.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and ASL interpreting.
  • Professional level interpreting skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as K-12, NIC, CI, EIC are desirable.
