ASL Interpreters (Non-Courtroom) performs a wide variety of American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services, in person or via remote videoconference, for the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. Incumbents in this classification perform ASL interpretation services for deaf or hard-of-hearing jurors in non-courtroom settings, such as jury orientation at any of the Court's jury assembly rooms, as well as provide language access services to deaf and/or hard-of-hearing persons as mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). ASL interpreters also perform sign language interpretation services in areas of the Court including self-help centers, public counters, and the training unit.
