About The Position

Join Ericsson’s ASIC IP organization and help build the silicon that powers the world’s 5G networks. If you love diving deep into RTL, turning specifications into efficient silicon, and partnering across disciplines to solve hard problems, this is where your engineering chops will drive real impact. Work with a world-class team delivering the foundational IP that keeps networks fast, reliable, and ready for what’s next. You’ll own RTL blocks and integration work that feed into flagship ASICs for 5G infrastructure. From third‑party IP integration to logic design, validation, and PPA optimization, you’ll work across the full ASIC flow using modern EDA tools and collaborate with digital, verification, and backend teams to move projects from specification to silicon.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 1–5 years writing RTL at the block and/or top level
  • Strong digital logic design fundamentals
  • Proficiency with RTL languages (SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL)
  • Solid programming skills (C/C++, TCL, Python)
  • Good understanding of CDC concepts and static timing analysis (STA)
  • Hands-on experience with RTL linting and CDC analysis (e.g., Synopsys SpyGlass)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AMBA (APB, AXI, ACE‑Lite) or CHI interfaces
  • Knowledge of SerDes, PCIe, ARM subsystems, DSPs/accelerators, or Ethernet IP
  • Familiarity with Cadence/Mentor/Synopsys tool flows and Linux/git environments
  • Understanding of computer architecture and VLSI systems

Responsibilities

  • Write, simulate, and verify RTL that’s robust, maintainable, and performance-driven
  • Translate specifications into CMOS circuitry and close synthesis/timing constraints
  • Analyze and optimize designs for power, performance, and area on advanced process nodes
  • Debug issues across simulation, linting, CDC, and timing domains using industry tools
  • Integrate third‑party IP and drive cross-team technical decisions to ensure smooth delivery
  • Partner with backend, verification, and system teams to meet project milestones and quality goals
  • Delivering clean RTL that integrates seamlessly at the block and top level
  • Closing timing and area targets while preserving functionality and reliability
  • Quickly isolating and resolving CDC, lint, and timing issues before tapeout
  • Influencing architectural and implementation choices that improve PPA and time-to-market

Benefits

  • Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of three medical plan options and a dental plan option that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.
  • The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson matches $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.
  • New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
  • Ericsson offers many other company-paid benefits such as financial wellness programs, educational assistance, matching gifts, and recognition programs.
