A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) is seeking a full-time exempt Assistant or Associate Professor of Biostatistics on the Mesa, Arizona campus. The Department of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences is known for exceptional teaching and research productivity across the health sciences. We use innovative and flexible methods to deliver high-quality, evidence-based education offerings to support student and lifelong learning. We foster an interdisciplinary collaborative culture by offering various learning and scholarly activities and resources to our students, faculty, and community partners. The Department invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Biostatistics (rank commensurate with qualifications), which is a 12-month residential position located on ATSU’s Mesa, Arizona campus. Consistent with all ATSU faculty, this is a 3-year renewable faculty appointment eligible for tenure per university policy.

  • Teach 2–3 courses per academic year (3 credits each) in research methods, biostatistics, and related data analysis topics for graduate, entry-level professional, master’s, and doctoral learners.
  • Provide biostatistical consultation for faculty and faculty-directed student projects, including study design, analytic plans, data management, interpretation, and dissemination.
  • Engage in collaborative, applied scholarship with health sciences colleagues; participation as the statistical member on grant applications is encouraged.
  • Advise/mentor students and contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide service to the department, institution, and profession (e.g., committees, curriculum efforts, faculty development, professional organizations).
  • PhD in Biostatistics or a closely related field at the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach biostatistics/research methods in ways that are clear, practical, and accessible to non-research-focused professional students.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex research methods and statistical concepts into clear, practical terms for individuals without technical training.
  • Demonstrated experience providing statistical consultation within health sciences.
  • Demonstrated competence with generalized linear mixed models and nonparametric approaches to statistical analyses.
  • Prior graduate-level teaching experience in research methods, biostatistics, or data analysis.
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity in applied or collaborative research.
  • Demonstrated success working in interdisciplinary teams and diverse academic settings.
  • Experience contributing as a statistical investigator on externally funded projects.
  • Demonstrated competence in qualitative and mixed methods research designs and analyses.
