About The Position

The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling duties, patient registration, and additional administrative tasks. This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, hours vary 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM out of our Edina Crosstown Surgery Center. Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Ability to: Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines.
  • Complete job required training.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
  • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
  • Work in the surgery center during business hours
  • Travel independently throughout the surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions
  • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
  • Work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred
  • Two years’ experience in medical office setting or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurately and consistently scheduling and verifying insurance information for all surgical procedures.
  • Maintains professional relationships with all physician offices.
  • Works in conjunction with Leadership on block scheduling and maintains the schedule flow.
  • Assists in training staff in scheduling as needed.
  • Accountable for reporting occurrences through the center’s established reporting process related to employee and/or patient/visitor events.
  • Participates in acceptable continuing education, fostering career and skill development including meeting departmental continuing education requirements.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned including those assigned to Patient Services Representative (see Patient Services Representative Job Description) and Non-Clinical Pre-Admission Coordinator (see NCPATC Job Description).
