About The Position

The Iowa Clinic has an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team that will open our new musculoskeletal-focused ambulatory surgery center. Conveniently located near I-80 in Waukee, this state-of-the-art, 21,000 sq. ft. ASC will offer same-day joint replacement, orthopedic, sports medicine, foot and ankle, pain management surgery and a cardiac catheterization lab in an out-patient setting. Keep reading… A Day in the Life of ASC Radiology Technologist This role will be responsible for performing radiological procedures under the direction of a physician, at a technical level. The radiologist tech will function as a scrub assistant and monitor technician during cardiac catheterization procedures. They will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for radiology diagnosis. Also performs a variety of diagnostic and interventional examinations.

Requirements

Completion of AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
ARRT Registered/Eligible. Current State of Iowa permit to practice radiology.
Mandatory reporter and BLS required within 30 days of hire.
1-2 years applicable clinical experience in medical imaging systems environment.

Nice To Haves

Cath lab and or operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Produces diagnostic radiographs of patients, within the scope of their permit.
Conforms to established department techniques and procedures by the proper selection and accurate operation of equipment, technical factors, and automatic film processing techniques.
Provides proper immobilization devices for positioning and/or transporting patients as required.
Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination while assisting physician in the administration of contrast media and applies first aid as required.
Assists in the development and maintenance of exposure charts for each piece of equipment to ensure accuracy and status. Performs daily quality control. Maintains a complete record of all tests to meet with State of Iowa requirements.
