About The Position

The Iowa Clinic has an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team that will open our new musculoskeletal-focused ambulatory surgery center. Conveniently located near I-80 in Waukee, this state-of-the-art, 21,000 sq. ft. ASC will offer same-day joint replacement, orthopedic, sports medicine, foot and ankle, pain management surgery and a cardiac catheterization lab in an out-patient setting. Keep reading… A Day in the Life of ASC Radiology Technologist This role will be responsible for performing radiological procedures under the direction of a physician, at a technical level. The radiologist tech will function as a scrub assistant and monitor technician during cardiac catheterization procedures. They will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for radiology diagnosis. Also performs a variety of diagnostic and interventional examinations.

Requirements

  • Completion of AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT Registered/Eligible. Current State of Iowa permit to practice radiology.
  • Mandatory reporter and BLS required within 30 days of hire.
  • 1-2 years applicable clinical experience in medical imaging systems environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Cath lab and or operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Produces diagnostic radiographs of patients, within the scope of their permit.
  • Conforms to established department techniques and procedures by the proper selection and accurate operation of equipment, technical factors, and automatic film processing techniques.
  • Provides proper immobilization devices for positioning and/or transporting patients as required.
  • Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination while assisting physician in the administration of contrast media and applies first aid as required.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of exposure charts for each piece of equipment to ensure accuracy and status. Performs daily quality control. Maintains a complete record of all tests to meet with State of Iowa requirements.
