We have an immediate opening for a full-time ASC Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our San Diego, CA Ambulatory Surgery Center. The pay range for this position is between $50-$60/hr. The schedule will be 6:30am-3:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays How You’ll Contribute: We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the ASC Operating Room RN is responsible for:

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of California
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an operating room, PACU, or ambulatory surgery center setting
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Strong understanding of perioperative nursing principles, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols
  • Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced and high-acuity surgical environment
  • Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Professionalism, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit

Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in the operating room setting
  • Acting as circulating nurse during surgical procedures such as egg retrievals and embryo transfers
  • Assisting in pre-operative assessments and verifying surgical consents
  • Monitoring patients intraoperatively and responding to patient status changes or emergencies
  • Collaborating closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical support teams
  • Performing accurate instrument and supply counts in compliance with safety standards
  • Maintaining sterile field and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols
  • Documenting patient care in the EMR system in real-time with attention to accuracy and detail
  • Providing post-operative education and discharge instructions to patients and their partners
  • Participating in patient safety, quality improvement initiatives, and ASC accreditation compliance
  • Supporting a collaborative and emotionally supportive environment for patients and staff
  • Maintaining inventory of OR supplies and recommending cost-effective ordering strategies
  • Participating in training, development, and education for new nursing staff or surgical support
