We’re seeking a detail-oriented, team-driven ASC Medical Assistant to support surgical patient care at Arizona Pain’s Ambulatory Surgery Center. In this hands-on clinical role, you’ll help prep patients for procedures, support our providers, and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Requirements

  • At least 1-3 year of experience in an ASC, Operating Room, or ER
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program
  • Proficient with EMR systems (preferably eCW)
  • Experience in a surgical, procedural, or fast-paced clinical setting a plus
  • Current certification as a medical assistant preferred
  • Current BLS Certification or ability to obtain
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle strong personalities
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to varying clinic environments
  • Ability to occasionally travel between sites as needed.
  • Employees must have the COVID vaccine or be approved for an exemption by the governing board.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to move and lift patients as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry medical supplies and equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for procedures (vitals, EMR intake, patient comfort)
  • Set up rooms, trays, and supplies for surgical and office-based procedures
  • Assist providers during procedures and with patient flow
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards
  • Keep clinical documentation up to date (charts, logs, EMR)
  • Check, prep, and log medications for procedures
  • Monitor inventory and notify team when supplies or equipment are needed
  • Support a safe and organized surgical environment
  • Other duties as assigned.
