Position Summary: This position supports the mission and work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization. Under the direction of the After School Program Administrator and the Arts Branch Executive Director, the After School Arts Program Teaching Assistant is a team player who demonstrates strong skills in classroom management; organization; interpersonal, verbal and written communication; and collaborative relationships. The Teaching Assistant’s responsibilities include attendance-keeping, day-to-day classroom management, and helping the classroom teacher as needed with instruction, while keeping in line with the YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. The Teaching Assistant provides leadership and assures the well-being for all, in line with YMCA of the USA guidelines and Association policies.
