The Museum Education Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing informal education programs, tours, workshops, and camps at Tempe History Museum and sites operated by the museum; supports education initiatives with schools and other organizations; and implements revenue-generating youth programmatic activities, that are inclusive, educational and engaging. In addition to museum-initiated programming, the specialist assists in implementing educational programming in collaboration with museum partners and stakeholder groups; and supports museum outreach activities at off-site locations such as historic houses, festivals and events. This position trains and oversees the work of docents, volunteers and temporary staff engaged in educational roles. As an integral member of the museum team, this position engages in collaborative planning and support of museum initiatives.
