About The Position

The Arts & Crafts Coordinator is responsible for planning, instructing, and overseeing daily arts and crafts activities at the camp. This role involves creating engaging art projects that inspire creativity in 1st–5th graders and fostering a fun and imaginative environment for all campers.

Requirements

• Proven experience and enthusiasm for working with children in a creative environment.
• Background in arts and crafts instruction or a strong desire to pursue this area.
• Ability to thrive in a cooperative, team-oriented setting.
• Must exhibit enthusiasm, energy, patience, self-control, a sense of humor, and a passion for creativity.
• Must commit to working Monday–Friday for the full six-week period (8:15 AM – 2:45 PM).
• Must pass required certifications, including CPR/First Aid, concussion training, bloodborne pathogen training, and a background check (for applicants 18 years or older).

Responsibilities

• Lead and instruct daily arts and crafts sessions with the support of other counselors.
• Encourage creativity among campers and staff members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
• Purchase necessary supplies for special art projects during shopping trips.
• Prepare a wish list of items and projects for the following camp year.
• Assist with camper dismissal at the end of the day as needed.
• Provide support on field trip days as required.
• Cover an assigned camper group in the absence of a counselor or attend field trips as requested by the Assistant Recreation Director.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Recreation Director to ensure the success of the camp.
