About The Position
This position is for an Artist/Entertainer at a vibrant and engaging art studio located in McAllen, TX. The role involves teaching painting classes that last between 1 to 2 hours, typically scheduled 2 to 3 times a week, primarily in the evenings and on weekends. The studio prides itself on creating a fun atmosphere where participants can enjoy painting, music, and games while expressing their creativity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up the class environment, instructing participants on painting techniques, and ensuring a lively and enjoyable experience for all attendees. The classes are designed for art students and amateur artists, making it a welcoming space for individuals of varying skill levels. The applicant must possess a cheerful and fun personality, as they will be engaging with participants, often including children, and must be able to entertain and maintain a positive atmosphere throughout the class. In addition to teaching, the artist will also be responsible for cleaning up after classes and ensuring that all materials are properly stored. While professional artistry is not a strict requirement, candidates must demonstrate acrylic painting skills and provide samples of their work. The studio offers flexibility in scheduling, allowing artists to work around their availability. Training may be provided for those who show potential but may not have extensive experience. The dress code is conservative, requiring jeans, a plain shirt, and tennis shoes, with no visible facial piercings or tattoos allowed.
