About The Position
An Artisan at Eataly is a key player in the fresh market retail stations, possessing a deep understanding of products and processes. This role is not just about selling; it’s about sharing knowledge and enhancing the guest experience. Artisans are responsible for engaging with guests, providing recommendations on products and portion sizes, and ensuring that the retail counters operate smoothly. Reporting directly to the Retail Manager, the Artisan plays a vital role in maintaining the quality and presentation of products, ensuring that all retail supplies are adequately stocked and utilized effectively across all stations. In addition to daily operations, the Artisan is tasked with stocking counter and display refrigerators in a neat and timely manner. This includes slicing, weighing, labeling, displaying, selling, and packaging products according to department standards and guest specifications. The Artisan also manages transfers between departments to maintain accurate inventory levels and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS). A steady presence on the floor is essential, as the Artisan constantly interacts with guests, employees, vendors, and visitors, creating a welcoming and informative environment. The role requires flexibility, as Artisans may need to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina is necessary, as the job involves lifting up to 50 pounds and maintaining mobility for up to 8 hours, which includes standing, walking, bending, and squatting. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about Italian cuisine and eager to share their knowledge with others.
