About The Position

The AI Developer will support Carhartt’s AI initiatives by designing and deploying intelligent systems that turn business needs into scalable, production-ready solutions. Partnering closely with engineers, business leaders and product owners, this role helps identify and apply the right AI approach, from automation and generative models to predictive and decision-support systems, to drive measurable business outcomes. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in and solid knowledge of analytics and data mining techniques inclusive of:
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying enterprise-grade agentic applications (e.g., using CrewAI, LangGraph, LangChain)
  • Analytics experience with working knowledge of machine learning programming principals and techniques
  • LLMs: Expertise in prompting and configuring LLMs, specifically utilizing Function Calling and Context Caching
  • Experience with integrating LLMs into platform and application workflow, experience with MCP protocols
  • RAG/Embeddings: experience in design and implementation of RAG based system using embeddings and vector databases
  • Basic business and data knowledge with an aptitude of curiosity and increased learning
  • Experience with software engineering principles and at least one general programming language such as Python, C/C++, etc.
  • Experience developing business-facing conceptual and architectural diagrams to communicate AI system design, data flows, and decision logic to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Positive, can-do attitude; ability to be flexible and open to changes in requirements, directions or circumstances
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and with all types of technical and non-technical partners

Responsibilities

  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to assess data quality, feasibility, and signal prior to model or system development.
  • Identify the right AI, analytics, or automation approach to meet specific business needs.
  • Build, test, and validate AI systems, selecting the most effective models, tools, and architectures.
  • Document end-to-end solutions, including technical design, implementation details, and business-facing overviews in shared repositories.
  • Partner directly with end users to lead discovery, define requirements, and ensure solutions are adopted, understood, and drive measurable value, supported by regular demos and release reviews.
  • Manage AI project workflows, coordinating dependencies across internal and external teams to keep delivery on track and aligned to milestones.
