About The Position

The Project Manager will oversee the management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. This role is crucial in supporting various programs including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System. The Project Manager will work within the Project Management Office (PMO) and is responsible for ensuring project management standardization and resource allocation across the COMET Project Portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering or technical equivalent.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills from prior experience.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace or related fields.
  • Familiarity with NASA safety standards and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Manage COMET Change Requests (CCR) and Engineering Service Requests (ESR).
  • Provide Project Management oversight and assist in all aspects of projects.
  • Oversee project scope, risks, budgets, and schedule changes.
  • Establish new project teams in support of COMET identified requirements.
  • Lead matrixed, cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Develop project schedules and resource loading to capture all work performed.
  • Prepare project artifacts including planning, status reports, and cost reporting.
  • Host and facilitate project team meetings.
  • Coordinate project assessments and generate Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
