Join a powerhouse therapeutic team at Brook Lane—Western Maryland’s largest non-profit mental health system. As an Art Therapist, your creative approach will support healing across two pivotal programs: the acute Inpatient unit (intensive, 24-hour care) and the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) (structured day treatment allowing patients to return home). What Makes This Role Special? Inpatient Environment Critical, life-saving work: Provide art therapy in a setting designed for urgent stabilization—patients may include individuals experiencing crisis-level symptoms, suicidal or impulsive behaviors, or needing emergency interventions. Intensive collaboration: Work within a multi-disciplinary team offering round-the-clock care in age-appropriate units for children, adolescents, and adults. Healing through structure: Support recovery through individualized treatment planning, group and family sessions, education, and emotional skill-building—art therapy can be a vital bridge. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Flexible, impactful care: Facilitate day-treatment experiences for individuals (both children and adults) with symptoms like anxiety, depression, self-injury, and social withdrawal—without requiring overnight hospitalization. Short-term, high-impact sessions: Typically spanning 1–2 weeks, PHP allows patients to receive structured therapeutic support and return home each evening. Personalized and holistic: Engage through art alongside individual, group, and family therapy, plus education on wellness, social skills, coping strategies, and more. Why Brook Lane? Meaningful mission: Be part of a continuum of care that includes intensive inpatient and compassionate day treatment services, all under one roof. Collaborative culture: Work alongside seasoned professionals—including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and educational specialists—committed to patient-centered outcomes. Community-centered impact: Brook Lane serves diverse age groups within a supportive, non-profit ethos—help drive emotional and behavioral well-being across the Mid‑Atlantic region.
