About The Position

Evaluates and treats patient populations for therapy needs. Provides care to Palliative and IP Behavioral Health units.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Art Therapy.
  • Registered as an Art Therapist (ATR).
  • Preferred: Board-Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) by the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB).
  • State licensure if required by law.

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition and needs.
  • Develops and implements therapeutic interventions appropriate to treatment goals.
  • Performs interventions utilizing art therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age, condition, and needs of the patient or group served.
  • Designs, coordinates and provides art therapy services and programs for a variety of patient and community populations.
  • Documents patient information, therapy provided, feedback and results.
  • Serves as a resource to the organization regarding art therapy.
  • May supervise art therapists, students and interns.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
