About The Position

Art Teacher – East Grand Middle School Description: Middle school art, teaching 6th - 8th grades Job Summary: East Grand Middle School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate teacher to join our team. Teachers at EGMS have both a daily planning time and a weekly collaborative team time with the other elective teachers. We are a highly collaborative building with a focus on engaging, integrated and project-based instruction. General responsibilities include developing lesson plans aligned to state standards, preparing and delivering lessons, creating and supervising activities for students, adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs, evaluating student performance, maintaining classroom records, meeting with and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members, and participating in school events. In addition, a qualified candidate should: · Possess knowledge of current pedagogy · Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students · Establish and communicate clear outcomes for all lessons, classwork, and projects. · Support the program of study, using a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and technology · Serve as a model for the district’s mission, vision, and goals · Analyze and use appropriate data to guide instruction and develop assessments

Requirements

  • Colorado teaching license with a visual arts endorsement or the appropriate qualifications to complete alternative licensure
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as effective time management and organizational skills are necessary
  • Possess knowledge of current pedagogy
