About The Position

The Art Teacher position is a part-time role for the 2024/2025 school year, responsible for planning, organizing, presenting, and evaluating an instructional program in art for students. The teacher will work under the direction of the principal or designee, ensuring a conducive learning environment and maintaining communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.

Requirements

• California (Preliminary or Clear) Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art.
• Credential Copy (ART)
• Letter of Introduction

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs classes and pupils assigned at designated times.
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Prepares for classes and provides written evidence of preparation when requested.
• Assists pupils and administrators in establishing acceptable behavior and standards.
• Applies a variety of instructional techniques and media appropriate for students' capabilities.
• Implements the District's educational philosophy and goals.
• Takes precautions to protect pupils and school property.
• Utilizes conference-preparation periods for instructional support activities.
• Evaluates pupil progress consistent with established objectives and policies.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Upholds and enforces school rules and regulations.
• Communicates openly with students and parents about academic and behavioral progress.
• Available for educational services when required.
• Participates in meetings and provides professional input.
• Cooperates with staff in planning instructional objectives and goals.
• Plans, directs, supervises, and evaluates classified personnel activities.
• Assists in selecting instructional materials and equipment.
• Accepts additional duties as required by certificated employees.
• Covers classes of other teachers during conference periods as assigned.
• Performs other job-related duties to ensure safety and security.
