About The Position

Working at KIPP St. Louis High School, you’re an enthusiastic educator engaging in students’ pursuits outside of the traditional classroom setting. You support students to express themselves through drawing, painting, and furthering their artistic understanding. You develop lessons that increase student skills and create culturally relevant artistic expression. You can engage students across St. Louis as an Art teacher at KIPP St. Louis Public Schools. Position Types: Full-time, Exempt, 10 months

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree ( REQUIRED )
Valid Missouri Art K-12 Certification or Missouri Substitute Certification or willingness to become certified ASAP ( REQUIRED )
Experience creating an Art curriculum
Experience teaching Art in a school setting
Pass Criminal Background Check
Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap

Responsibilities

Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
Develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments
Use data to inform instructional decisions
Provide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needs
Embody and maintain the school’s values, policies, and culture
Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff
Establish and maintain strong communication with all parents and share progress
Effectively supervise and manage a classroom of up to 30 students
Show up for critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and more
Pursue challenging professional goals each year
Give and receive positive and constructive feedback from your colleagues
Participate in school-wide and individual professional development
Operate a computer and office equipment on a daily basis
Occasional moderate lifting, pushing, and pulling
Maintain emotional control under stress
Interpret policy, procedures, and data
Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
