About The Position

Requirements

• BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Master’s a plus) or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years experience teaching visual arts for K–12 and/or adults. Digital art skills are a plus.
• Track record of high-quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.
• Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment.
• Passion for art history, contemporary art and a 'students-first' mindset.

Responsibilities

• Teach weekly art and / or digital art classes and summer camps for a variety of ages and media.
• Ensure student success in the studio and lab by actively engaging with students and teachers to observe, document and communicate their progress and opportunities for growth.
• Conduct proactive check-ins with parents, students and families, support makeup scheduling, discuss student progress and opportunities for growth, upsells to additional classes / camps.
• Ensure teachers have lesson plans/resources on time and implement the One River Method through each class effectively and contribute to lesson plan development regularly.
• Order and Re-stock art supplies, Clean and organize studio spaces and student artwork and oversee digital lab maintenance.
• Collect, Curate and Install school & community exhibitions; plan and prompt the opening receptions for Student Shows and support parties and special events.
