Bonhams Skinner is seeking a motivated and talented individual to assume this cross-functional role that is both in the gallery and on the road. A competitive applicant should have experience in the field, enjoy a dynamic workplace, and have excellent communication skills. This role comes with long days when necessary, in order to get the job at hand finished; some night and weekend work, and ability to travel overnight as necessary; must be available to work auctions as requested.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of related experience but will train the right person
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 80 lbs based on needs of the role
  • Ability to understand, follow and execute written and/or verbal instructions
  • Flexibility in performing different tasks
  • Must operate with a sense of urgency, and have attention to detail
  • Must be self-disciplined and have the ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Picking up/packing property from customers' homes, storage facilities, museums, etc.
  • Transferring property to our Boston Gallery when necessary
  • Unloading and loading trucks arriving or departing our locations
  • Packing/unpacking, and binning property
  • Inventory and database management
  • Managing pickups by clients, shippers, and third parties
  • Moving property to assist with photoshoots
  • Assisting Transportation department on the road as needed
  • Exhibition setup for public previews
  • Assisting clients during auctions and previews
  • Responsible for an auction duty (phone bidding, clerking, etc.)
  • Providing excellent customer service in a professional manner and problem solve in a timely manner
  • In addition to the tasks and responsibilities listed, you may be required to perform other duties as assigned by your manager.
