About The Position

cLABS (Creative Labs) is a visual design studio that focuses on creating high-quality visual content for beauty, wellness, and other industries. Our team offers a multitude of services to our clients including photography, videography, web design, packaging design, animation, and graphic design; Both digital & print materials in branding, advertising assets, promotional materials, presentations, exhibition/expo related design, social media contents and much more. We are based in NJ, USA and work with many talents around the world. cLABS is looking for an experienced Art Director. The ideal candidate has a strong focus in branding and extensive experience in designing for eCommerce, paid ads, social media, email marketing, packaging and event marketing. This role reports to the Sr. Creative Director. They will work closely with the Project Manager(s) to ensure timely delivery of high-quality projects as assigned. This person may be required to travel to Mahwah, NJ or other locations as necessary for your job on a needed basis.

Requirements

• A degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is often preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience as an Art Director with a focus on branding.
• Proven experience as an Art Director, with a strong portfolio showcasing branding and design work.
• A strong portfolio showcasing branding projects, including logo design, brand identity, and brand strategy.
• Experience in designing for eCommerce, paid ads, social media, email marketing, packaging, and event marketing.
• Experience working in both agency and corporate environments is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in the beauty and health and wellness industry is a significant plus.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Knowledge of branding tools and techniques.
• Strong conceptual and visual skills with the ability to develop and maintain a consistent brand identity.
• Ability to translate brand strategy into compelling visual designs.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple branding projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines, as well as work independently.
• Understanding of the target audience and market trends, especially in the relevant industry (e.g., beauty, health and wellness).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team of designers, providing constructive feedback and fostering a creative environment.
• Experience in managing external vendors and freelancers.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment with various clients.
• Flexibility to work remotely and collaborate with a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with the Sr. Creative Director and leads the visual design for all projects.
• Develop and execute design strategies for eCommerce platforms, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
• Create compelling visuals for paid advertising campaigns across various digital channels.
• Design engaging content for social media platforms, maintaining brand consistency and appeal.
• Craft visually appealing email marketing campaigns that drive engagement and conversions.
• Design packaging that reflects the client's brand identity and resonates with our target audience.
• Conceptualize and execute event marketing materials that enhance brand presence and engagement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams from various brands, including marketing, product development, and sales, to ensure cohesive and effective brand messaging.
• Manage and mentor a team of designers and production artists, providing guidance and feedback to foster creativity and professional growth.
