About The Position
As the Art Director for Retail Design, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual merchandising strategies for our client's retail experience team. Your primary responsibility will be to develop captivating concepts for window displays and in-store visual merchandising that resonate with the brand's identity, seasonal themes, and promotional campaigns. This position requires a blend of creativity and strategic thinking, as you will be tasked with driving creative executions and designing exceptional 2D and physical 3D materials for retail environments. In this hybrid role based in Mountain View, CA, you will collaborate closely with a diverse team of professionals, including Photo Art Directors, Designers, Producers, and Production staff, to bring your concepts to life. You will maintain brand consistency across all visual and retail content, ensuring that every piece aligns with the established brand guidelines and overall aesthetic. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams will be essential as you identify gaps and propose alternative solutions to meet project needs. Your creative direction will extend to agency partners, where you will provide guidance and feedback to ensure that the final outputs meet the high standards expected by the brand. You will also be responsible for presenting your design concepts confidently to stakeholders, articulating the rationale behind your creative choices. This role demands a keen eye for design, the ability to execute and iterate on designs quickly, and a solid understanding of graphic design principles, including typography, composition, and color proofing. The ideal candidate will be a strong design generalist, capable of wearing many creative hats and adapting to the fast-paced and ever-changing needs of the business. You will be expected to solve complex design problems and approach solutions strategically, all while thriving in a collaborative and iterative environment.
