Art and Design Adjunct - Graphic Design

About The Position

The NCCU Department of Art and Design has an immediate need for adjunct faculty Graphic Design & Innovation. The ideal candidates will have a master’s degree, professional experience, as well as a passion for teaching. Adjunct professors will prepare students for careers in the field through in-person lecture or studio-based learning, critiques, and exposure to traditional and cutting-edge creative approaches. In the Spring 2026 semester, the selected adjunct(s) will teach one or both of the courses below, each class meeting twice a week: ART 3060 – Design History (3 credits) A comprehensive introduction to the evolution of visual communication—from early symbolic systems and the origins of writing, to modern typography, animation, motion design, and interactive digital media. The course emphasizes global perspectives, artistic movements, design innovation, and the relationship between culture, technology, and society. ARTV 3150 – Computer Graphics II: Time and Sequence (3 credits) A studio-intensive course focused on time-based media, narrative development, and visual storytelling. Students work with Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects to explore video editing, motion graphics, compositing, sequencing, and concept development. Six studio hours weekly. Opportunities to teach may be available in future semesters. Course options, availability and schedules can vary each semester.
