About The Position

Essential Functions Maintains Holter Monitor system Prepares patient and equipment Explains and instructs the patient on use of monitor Places and removes monitors Maintains database and runs reports Edits and interprets report for physicians final dictation Ensures physician is informed of abnormalities Maintains Holter Monitor log to ensure dictated reports are in EMR Applies Event Monitor & MCOT monitors to patients Inputs patient information into the computer database Instructs patient on the use of event monitor Receives and interprets transmissions Generates and records reports Maintains database Ensures physician is informed of abnormalities Internal Loop Recorder (ILR) Educates patient on use of activator for ILR device Evaluates and interprets rhythms that are recorded by monitor or patient Maintains database Ensures physician is informed of abnormalities Reviews remote site daily for activity Assists as necessary in proper functioning of Pacemaker Clinic Maintains rooms, supplies, and equipment Recognizes and responds appropriately to emergency situations in the department Performs 96 month maintenance check Maintains the HeartStart Defibrillator & AED; checks off sheet daily Work Environment & Physical Demands This person in this position needs to occasionally move about the inside of the office retrieve patients from waiting room, access file cabinets, and office equipment. Constantly operates a computer and holter devices This person frequently communicates with patients that inquire about their devices and test. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to see the computer monitors, interpret pacing rhythms, and recognize abnormalities. Frequently moves file boxes weighing up to 50 pounds between file room and Pacemaker Clinic Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing and holds active FL license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Must be able to read EKG tracings
