The Arrhythmia Diagnostic Specialist (Stress and EKG Specialist) at Ochsner Health System is responsible for providing diagnostic care in accordance with departmental guidelines and standing orders under the direction of a physician. The specialist will be tasked with generating quality reports for physician interpretation, dictation, and distribution, ensuring that all diagnostic processes are executed with precision and care. The position requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to work efficiently under pressure, as well as the capability to function without direct supervision when necessary. In this role, the Arrhythmia Diagnostic Specialist will perform various duties including wound checks using aseptic techniques, providing follow-up education to patients regarding pacemaker methods, and conducting telephone pacemaker analyses. The specialist will also be responsible for recording, interpreting, and editing EKG strips in the pacemaker database system, providing preliminary reports for physician review, and recognizing signs of infection or other post-operative complications. The job demands a self-directed individual who can adapt their behavior to meet the needs of diverse patient populations, ensuring respect for privacy and effective communication throughout the patient care process.
