About The Position

The Arrhythmia Device Technician provides pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) care to patients under the direction of the physician. The individual evaluates pacemaker and ICD performance, diagnoses malfunctions and completes program adjustments to optimize device performance. The Arrhythmia Device Technician educates patients, family and assists with patient questions. The individual interacts with physicians, clinical personnel and community agencies to provide optimal care to the patient and their family.

Requirements

• Minimum of six months of didactic training.
• Licensure awarded by the State of Wisconsin, as applicable, based on diploma or degree held.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
• Cardiac Rhythm Device Therapy Examination (CCDS) certification awarded by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) within three years of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Diploma or degree in a medical field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
• Cardiac Rhythm Device Therapy Examination (CCDS) certification awarded by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) at time of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association at time of hire.
