About The Position

S&P Global Commodity Insights is recruiting for the role of American Aromatics Director. This role is an opportunity to provide research into a core group of strategically important petrochemical products and support the development and growth of a market analytics business line. The successful candidate will become the 'face' of S&P Global Commodity Insights for the aromatic products covered. We are seeking an expert with deep market and subject matter knowledge of the US benzene and derivative markets - namely styrene and phenol. Other aromatic product specialisation may be considered depending upon experience. The successful candidate will have commercial or corporate planning experience, will have excellent communication skills, and bring with them a network of industry contacts. The successful candidate joins at a time of unprecedented change within the industry, with climate change, energy transition and plastic waste gaining ever-increasing importance in reporting and decision-making. The successful candidate will be expected to provide thought leadership on how US aromatics will change in the face of these environmental pressures. The team is looking to leverage S&P Global's wider expertise and experience in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The right candidate will be able to influence the role that these technologies play in revolutionising the ways that we gather and deliver market intelligence. The candidate may have already spent time in market research and consulting roles as a specialist or been a commercial leader within the aromatics industry. Entrepreneurial and with the gravitas to represent the organization across the C-suite, world class presentation skills are a requirement for the candidate to represent the company as a key-note speaker at industry events. The role is Houston-based with the candidate expected to travel internationally on occasion.
