We are seeking a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital and provide inpatient psychiatric care for adults with co-occurring medical and mental health needs. For more information, please contact Colleen Lohrasbi at [email protected] #LI-CL2 Position Summary The inpatient psychiatric ARNP is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and directing treatment for adult patients with psychiatric disorders admitted to acute inpatient level of care.

Requirements

  • A graduate degree from an advanced nursing education program accredited by a national nursing accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education.
  • An active Washington state RN license, without sanctions or restrictions
  • State NP license
  • Current CME hours to maintain licensure
  • Adult Psychiatry and/or Lifespan Certification of Completion from the American Nurse Credentialing Center or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners
  • Registration capability with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
  • An active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients 18 years or older with acute psychiatric disorders requiring inpatient hospitalization
  • Conduct suicide and violence risk assessments
  • Formulate and implement comprehensive and evidence-based treatment plans
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications
  • Order laboratory tests as indicated
  • Manage acute behavioral emergencies with behavioral and pharmacologic interventions
  • Lead treatment team meetings and coordinate activity of the interdisciplinary team, including primary care providers, social workers, RNs, and other team members
  • Consult with primary care providers and other clinicians to facilitate evaluation and treatment of medical conditions
  • Collaborate with Social Workers and Court Evaluators to assess readiness for discharge and formulate discharge plans
  • Document in the electronic medical record
