About The Position

As an Army Network Engineer, you will have a unique opportunity to bridge operational military requirements with advanced communication technologies at the tactical edge. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, resilient network infrastructures that ensure seamless data exchange in contested and austere environments. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering essential data solutions in artificial intelligence (AI) and low code no code (LCNC) architecture, helping the Army transform and optimize their data infrastructure. You will work closely with Army teams and stakeholders to align technical solutions with mission objectives and DoD cybersecurity standards. You will be responsible for translating operational communication needs into actionable engineering specifications, ensuring reliable connectivity and information superiority for the warfighter where it is needed most.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience installing, operating and supporting tactical networks and/or mission platforms
  • Strong understanding of tactical networking concepts (routing, switching, transport, QoS, segmentation)
  • Experience engineering, validating, and managing local, wide-area, voice, and classified/unclassified data networks.
  • Experience providing Tier 3 network engineering support, troubleshooting, and repairing network performance issues in austere, field environments.
  • Experience supporting platform infrastructure (servers, virtualization, or mission systems)
  • Ability to communicate networking and platform concepts clearly in operational terms to technical teams and leadership.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco or similar networking equipment in fielded environments
  • Experience supporting Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) ,SATCOM, LOS, and BLOS communications
  • Familiarity with STIGs and securing networks and platforms in tactical environments
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • COMPTIA Security+ certification

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting Army tactical units or deployed environments
  • Experience with virtualization or platform technologies (VMware, KVM, containers, or equivalent)
  • Experience integrating platforms with tactical networks
  • CCNP or equivalent networking certification
  • Experience operating in austere or deployed environments
  • Familiarity with automation or scripting (Python, Ansible, PowerShell) in operational environments
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, unstructured situations.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, operate, and sustain tactical network infrastructure supporting Army operational missions
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, radios, and network transport devices
  • Troubleshoot network performance, latency, and availability issues in austere or contested environments
  • Install, operate, and support tactical and enterprise networks during training exercises.
  • Explain tactical networking concepts clearly to operators and technical teams
  • Deploy, configure, and sustain tactical compute platforms, including servers and virtualized environments
  • Support platform services such as virtualization, containerized workloads, and core infrastructure services
  • Integrate network infrastructure with mission platforms and applications
  • Support platform hardening, patching, and STIG compliance in tactical environments
  • Troubleshoot platform-level issues impacting mission applications and network performance
  • Support system integration, testing, and fielding activities
  • Develop and maintain network and platform diagrams, load plans, and technical documentation
  • Support RMF and ATO activities with technical artifacts and remediation actions
  • Collaborate with systems, cybersecurity, and application teams to deliver operational capabilities
  • Support exercises, deployments, and surge operations as mission demands
