Army Enterprise Security System (AESS) Administrator XVIII ABC Hub and Spoke MTCs provide individual and collective training on Army Mission Command Systems, using a variety of tools and Army fielded systems. These systems are used to support Small Unit Training: Squads through Company, Medium Unit Training: Battalion through Brigade, and Large Unit Training: Divisions and Corps in training environments ranging from Stability and Support Operations (SSO) through Unifi ed Land Operations (ULO). HOW AN AESS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: The AESS Administrator is responsible for the system/application administration, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation, troubleshooting, software upgrades, and database maintenance for the AESS servers and its clients. Monitors/implements AESS configuration changes, conducts event analysis and tuning for servers and workstations, tuning of network traffic to assist in planning and configuring HIPS Host Firewall, and monitor AESS traffic congestion issues for limited bandwidth. Manages the deployment, administration, and monitoring of AESS Endpoint Protection Components (EPCs) which may include, but is not limited to, Asset Configuration Compliance Module (ACCM) Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS), Asset Baseline Monitor (ABM) Device Control Module (DCM), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Policy Auditor (PA), Antivirus (AV), McAfee Agent (MA), Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP), and Rogue Sensor Detector (RSD). Prepare AESS reporting requirements (Government provided format) in order to comply with Continuous Monitoring Risk Scoring (CMRS) If and when mandated by higher headquarters. Understand the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Certification & Accreditation process and Cyber Security requirements. Provides technical support to projects involving training, tactical / operational documentation or other efforts requiring technical operations expertise. Performs physical security, classified information security, and information assurance security tasks to safeguard classified information/equipment. Coordinates with customer unit representatives to resolve interconnection and integration issues between military systems and MTC systems and servers. Directs technical support activities that encompass system administration, system engineering, database management, system integration and network-engineering services in support of all on site and site supported training activities that employ digital Command-and- Control Information Systems (C2IS), Mission Command stimulation systems, simulation systems and virtual training systems. Conducts Technical Information Working Group meeting with unit S6 personnel to coordinate necessary technical support for specific exercises or training events. Possesses good technical knowledge of C2IS such as Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS); Air and Missile Defense Workstation (AMDWS); Command Post Computing environment (CPCE); MAVEN Smart System (MSS); Tactical Airspace Integration System (TAIS); Distributed Communications Ground System- Army (DCGS-A). Possesses good technical knowledge of Simulations / Stimulations systems such as Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) Multi Resolution Federate (MRF); Live Virtual Constructive – Integrating Architecture (LVC-IA) components; Virtual Battle Space 3 (VBS3); Low Overhead Training Systems (LOTS). Provides technical expertise to acquire, install, operate, integrate, and troubleshoot training and exercise systems within classroom environment. Coordinates and executes Operational Readiness Test (ORT) in support of exercises and training event.
