About The Position

The Army Aviation Program Financial Analyst: Performs monthly analysis and reporting of budget to actual revenue/cost/profit comparisons and identifies variance drivers. Five years' experience in a financial environment is preferred. US Citizenship is Required to obtain the Secret Security clearance required for this opportunity. Reviews expenses, GL accounts and invoices to ensure they are allowable and billable Must be familiar with CLIN and Project set up to ensure proper charging on all travel related to the program Ensures program costs are accurately collected by maintaining active charge numbers, monitoring actual charges, and processing transfers when appropriate. Conducts special studies to analyze financial actions and prepares recommendations for policies and procedures. Interprets and applies policies, government legislation and accounting theories. Ensures compliance with internal procedures and regulatory agencies. Individual must be capable of forecasting cost information and predicting cost issues that need to be addressed with financial management team Performs duties in support of Month End close Process, to include reconciliation of projects/accounts, review and analysis of monthly financial data, revenue entries and direct cost accruals. Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as FAR, other government regulations, GAAP, and CAS requirements. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Accounting, Finance and/or related discipline is Required. Two (2) years' experience in analytical finance capacity or related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in a financial environment is preferred.
  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.
  • Must be proficient in finance and accounting relational databases.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and General Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP) is Required.
  • Excellent decision making, problem solving, communication, and leadership skills
  • Security Clearance Requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt. Secret Security Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is Required to obtain a Secret Clearance, and for facility credentials and access and authorization to work at this facility.

  • Analyzes financial information especially concerning overhead to determine present and future financial performance of the SBU.
  • Acts as a liaison between program controls group and prepares comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgets.
  • Reviews complex financial data received from managers for inclusion in indirect and forward pricing rate packages submission to the government.
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
  • Develops plans including budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements.
  • Coordinates, negotiates and resolves financial compliance issues with various agencies.
  • Knowledge of external platforms, such as: Workday and/or Costpoint are preferred.
  • Results oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills and must be able to work independently.
