The Armorer II position at Colts Manufacturing Company involves providing specialized armorer training courses for Colt rifles, carbines, and Colt 1911 pistols to law enforcement, military, and private security personnel. The instructor will also be responsible for establishing communication with host agencies and enhancing the armorer program through professional relationships and technical support.

  • Provide Colt rifle, carbine, and Colt 1911 pistol armorer training courses to law enforcement, military, and private security customers/students.
  • Safeguard all firearms and tools during the armorer training course.
  • Liaise with the host agency to secure armorer course weapons at the end of daily training.
  • Administer testing to armorer students, including written examinations and hands-on practical exercises.
  • Provide necessary armorer instruction leading to factory armorer certification valid for three years.
  • Establish contact with the host agency prior to the commencement of armorer courses.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures established under Colt's Law Enforcement armorer program.
  • Coordinate and communicate all required paperwork regarding the movement of weapons in compliance with Colt's policies.
  • Implement improvements to the armorer program.
  • Maintain professional relationships with law enforcement and government agencies to market Colt products.
  • Respond to technical inquiries from course students.
  • Comply with administrative requirements mandated by the Armorer Program Administrator or designee.
  • Communicate with Colt's LE Sales & Training Department regarding any issues affecting Colt's Manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of Colt rifles, carbines, and Colt 1911 pistols.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide meaningful armorer training with above-average course evaluations.
  • Experience in public speaking, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to interact with law enforcement and civilian customers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), and PDF documents.
  • Ability to organize time and priorities under Colt Armorer Program policies.
  • Judgment and research skills to handle sensitive inquiries and safeguard company information.
  • Experience in enhancing training programs through collaboration with other instructors.
  • Ability to work independently and harmoniously with others.
  • Compensation of $250/day for office meetings, $500/day for instruction/demo, and $250/day for travel (except local travel).
