About The Position
As an Armed Security Officer at Summa Health System, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and orderly environment for patients, visitors, and staff within the hospital facility and its grounds. Your primary responsibilities will include patrolling assigned areas, enforcing hospital policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with applicable local and state laws. The position requires you to maintain active certifications in firearms and Conducted Electrical Weapons, as well as complete necessary training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) within the first six months of hire. You will also be required to operate handheld and walk-through metal detectors, ensuring the safety of all individuals within the facility. The role demands physical stamina, as you will be required to perform functions that may include running, walking, and physical restraint of others. You will be exposed to various weather conditions while on patrol, and effective communication with a diverse population of patients and staff is essential. Your ability to maintain proficiency in self-defense techniques and firearms will be critical to your success in this position.
