About The Position

The Armed Security Officer (ASO) is responsible for the protection and safeguarding of personnel, visitors, and federal property. The ASO maintains a secure environment by enforcing access control, conducting patrols, and responding to incidents in accordance with federal regulations, client expectations, and TCS policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of armed security, military service (honorably discharged), or law enforcement
• Prior supervisory experience is a plus
• U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency with honorable military discharge
• Valid Social Security card
• At least 21 years of age
• Must pass a pre-employment medical exam and drug screening
• Must pass NLIC / State / Local background and credit checks (as applicable)
• Favorable Fitness Determination (FPS Suitability)
• Active State Armed Guard License

Responsibilities

• Conduct security patrols to detect suspicious activity and deter unauthorized access
• Enforce access control by verifying credentials and monitoring entry/exit points
• Protect property from theft, sabotage, fire, and other threats
• Respond to alarms, accidents, and incidents, contacting emergency services as needed
• Investigate and document incidents, safety hazards, and violations
• Operate screening equipment (e.g., metal detectors) and inspect packages when necessary
• Assist employees, customers, and visitors in following safety/security procedures
• Compose clear, concise reports and daily activity logs
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in high-pressure situations
