About The Position

We are seeking a professional, dependable Armed Security Officer to support security operations at a place of worship in Manhattan Beach. This role requires a calm, respectful presence while maintaining heightened situational awareness during services and community gatherings. The ideal candidate understands the balance between approachability and vigilance and is comfortable operating in a faith-based environment.

Requirements

• Valid California Guard Card
• Valid California Firearms Permit (BSIS)
• Current exposed firearm qualification
• Prior armed security experience (places of worship, schools, or community settings preferred)
• Strong communication, situational awareness, and de-escalation skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods

Nice To Haves

• CPR / First Aid certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible armed security presence during services and scheduled events
• Monitor and control access points and entrances
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols as assigned
• Observe, identify, and report suspicious activity or safety concerns
• Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies
• Coordinate with site leadership and local law enforcement when required
• Complete accurate and timely incident reports
