Job Description As an Armed Security Officer - Afternoon Shift in Detroit, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, interacting with visitors and staff, and providing exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements
- Possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and verify the authorization of individuals entering restricted areas.
- Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and promote a secure environment for visitors and staff.
- Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed.
- Adhere to all company and site-specific protocols while carrying a firearm in accordance with applicable laws and Allied Universal policies.
