Opening: Armed Security Officer (Per Diem / Part-Time) Location: Warwick, RI Facility Type: Jewelry Manufacturing Facility Employment Type: Per Diem / Part-Time ; First & Mid Day Shifts Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Armed Security Officer for a per diem / part-time assignment at a jewelry manufacturing facility in Warwick, Rhode Island. This is a fixed-post position requiring prior armed security experience, strict procedural compliance, and a high level of professionalism. The officer will be responsible for access control, personnel screening, surveillance monitoring, and safeguarding high-value assets in accordance with established site protocols.
Requirements
- Active Rhode Island Armed Security License (required)
- Valid permit to carry and approved duty firearm (required)
- Prior armed security experience (required)
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
- Clean BCI
- Rhode Island License to Carry
- Own Transportation
- Proper Indetification (i-9 compliant)
- Access to Smartphone / Internet (Schedule is online, GPS clock-in)
Nice To Haves
- Experience in high-value, manufacturing, or controlled-access environments preferred
- Proficiency with metal detection equipment, access control systems, and CCTV
Responsibilities
- Conduct employee screening using walk-through metal detectors
- Perform secondary screening using handheld wands as required
- Monitor CCTV and security systems
- Control and document access for employees, visitors, and authorized vendors
- Oversee, verify, and document inbound and outbound shipments
- Enforce loss prevention and chain-of-custody procedures
- Maintain a professional armed presence at an assigned fixed post
- Complete accurate logs, reports, and required documentation
- Immediately report and escalate incidents or irregularities per protocol
