About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Airport Patrol Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an armed Patrol Officer in a busy retail location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication and customer service. This post requires a valid driver’s license under AU driver policy requirements and Level III Armed Certification in Texas. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Hold a Level III Armed Certification for Texas only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a retail location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the sales floor, receiving areas, parking lots, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting law enforcement and/or medical resources, and completing required notifications.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verifying authorization where required and assisting with loss prevention observations and reporting.
  • Document activities, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate pertinent information to Allied Universal leadership and on-site client contacts.
