Job Description As a Security Officer Armed Route Driver Sentinel in Miami, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support a professional presence for staff and visitors. This is an armed and driving post, offering the opportunity to combine patrol responsibilities, strong communication, and customer service while representing Allied Universal with agility, reliability, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following post orders and applicable protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Control access by verifying identification, observing entrances and exits, and documenting visitor, vendor, and/or vehicle activity in accordance with site requirements.
  • Prepare accurate reports on incidents, patrol activity, and/or notable observations, and communicate with supervisors, site contacts, and/or emergency personnel as needed.
