About The Position

Allied Universal Security is seeking Armed Security Officers to join their High End Shops Team in various locations near or on the strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 1 year of verifiable ARMED employment or equivalent military, law enforcement officer (LEO), or correctional officer (CO) experience. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and comfortable with prolonged standing at a designated location. A professional demeanor and appearance, with no visible tattoos, are essential. The position requires exceptional customer service and communication skills, along with proficiency in using computers and tablets. While prior loss prevention experience is preferred, it is not required. The typical schedule for this role is Friday through Sunday, totaling 32 hours: Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 10:00pm, and Sunday from 11:00am to 9:00pm. The company offers weekly pay, and uniforms and equipment are provided at no cost.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of verifiable ARMED employment OR equivalent military, LEO, or CO experience
• Be 21 years of age or older
• Comfort with prolonged standing at a designated location is essential
• Have professional demeanor and appearance - No visible tattoos
• Display exceptional customer service and communications skills
• Have proficiency in using computers and tablets
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
• Meet licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations prior to employment
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
• Ability to pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
• Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
• Active listening and problem-solving skills
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately

Nice To Haves

• Prior loss prevention experience is preferred but not required
• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
