As an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and calls for service, assist staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication, and document key observations. Requirements

  • Work in a hospital environment where vaccines are present.
  • Work in a hospital morgue environment.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to restrain individuals.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
  • Carry authorized duty weapon and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and location policies, maintain required qualifications, and use sound judgment and de-escalation techniques to help reduce risk during security-related events.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with disorderly persons, visitor issues, and support for clinical teams as requested.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of entrances, lobbies, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or disruptive behavior; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Complete timely documentation such as incident reports and patrol logs, communicate status updates to leadership and local contacts, and coordinate with law enforcement and/or emergency services when needed.
